Please Read Spa Policies
THREE CEDARS DAY SPA reserves the right to change/modify all policies, as well as its menus, equipment, products, services, prices, location, and hours of operation. If you have been provided a copy of our brochure or spa menu and policies and there is a discrepancy between the printed version and the online version, the website is the most current. All products and services are subject to availability. We reserve the right to substitute products, services, and providers as necessary. All spa clients must be able to provide valid proof that they are at least 18 years of age or older to receive any spa treatment. All clients must be in sufficient health to receive the requested treatment. A doctor’s note may be required.
LOCATION: 3317 PACIFIC AVENUE, TACOMA, WA 98418. Three Cedars Day Spa is the small blue building on the corner of 34th and Pacific Ave. A
map and driving directions are available at our website. If this is your first visit with us, please re-read the instructions your appointment confirmation email and note the building entry code.
GETTING HERE: From I-5 in Tacoma, take Exit #133 and stay to the right, following signs to Hwy 7 South/Pacific Avenue. The road merges with 38th Street. At the traffic light, turn RIGHT at Pacific Avenue, go past 34th Street, and turn RIGHT into our parking lot at 3317 Pacific. A map and driving directions are available at our website. If you are having a half or full day of spa services, we highly recommend having someone drive you to and from your appointment so that you may be fully relaxed. Allow time to locate our office if this is your first appointment with us or if you are unfamiliar with Tacoma or Pacific Avenue.
APPOINTMENTS AND HOURS OF OPERATION: Three Cedars Day Spa operates by appointment only. All appointments must be made online in the name of the person receiving the spa treatment. If the appointment is for you, create your profile and book it in your name. If the appointment you are booking is for someone else, you must create their profile and then book it in their name. All appointments are booked online in advance and no walk-in appointments are accepted.
SAME-DAY APPOINTMENTS: Generally, no same-day appointments are available, but there may be exceptions. I check the online schedule the night before and if there are no appointments booked, I usually do not come into the office that day. Occasionally, I will open the online booking calendar up to receive same-day appointments. If you do see an appointment opening online on the current day, please feel to book it. If your desired appointment time is not available, please check for alternate dates and times.
50-WEEK CALENDAR YEAR: Three Cedars Day Spa operates on a 50-week calendar year and may be closed for vacation, training, and/or holidays.
INDEPENDENT CONTRACTORS: Three Cedars Day Spa may contract services to independent contractors. We are not responsible for these individuals. Issues with our independent contractors must be taken up directly with the contractor. We reserve the right to substitute service providers.
MEDICAL INSURANCE: Three Cedars Day Spa does not accept medical insurance for services at this time.
MILITARY DISCOUNTS: Three Cedars Day Spa gives a ten percent discount on all regularly priced products and services to ACTIVE or RETIRED U.S. military personnel. As a courtesy, we extend the 10% discount on regularly priced services to all active public service employees such as police, fire, and emergency employees. Please present valid ID at your appointment. Appointments must be booked online. The 10% discount does not apply to Web Specials and is not combinable with any other promotions. Any appointments or arrangements made via telephone are subject to regular full rates and must be guaranteed with a credit card.
*1 YEAR Packages. 1 YEAR means one year from the date of purchase and is based on our 50-week calendar year. Unused services, packages, and certificates are void after 1 year. We urge you not to purchase packages, gift certificates, or pre-pay services if you will not use them within the allotted time frame.
* MASSAGE PACKAGES AND TREATMENT SERIES CANNOT BE SHARED. All packages and services are for ONE PERSON unless otherwise specified. A treatment series or package may be transferred to another qualified adult for a $25 processing fee. Both parties must be present at time of transfer. Prepaid Services, Packages, Gift Certificates, and Treatment Series must be fully used within one year from date of purchase. Unused services or certificates are void after one year. Again, we urge you not to purchase any packages, gift certificates, or pre-pay services will not use them before they expire.
*BRAZILIAN MAINTENANCE: After receiving a Brazilian waxing service from Three Cedars Day Spa at regular price, if you return for Brazilian maintenance waxing within 4 weeks of the original waxing, you qualify for a reduced maintenance waxing rate. After 4 weeks (28 days), the regular full price for Brazilian waxing service applies.
FOR YOUR COMFORT & PROTECTION: Do not wear jewelry to your massage or spa treatment. Dress comfortably. Keep valuables at home. Not responsible for theft, loss, or damage. Optional disposable undergarments are available for your warmth, comfort, and privacy, as well as to protect your personal clothing from being stained or discolored. Do not eat a heavy meal immediately before or immediately after your spa treatment.
CAUTION RE SENSITIVE OR BROKEN SKIN: We regret that we cannot perform waxing services or some spa treatments on clients who have injured or broken skin or severe acne, or who are taking sensitizing medicines such as Accutane, Retin-A, Differin, Tazorac, Renova, or antibiotics. These products may sensitize the skin and may cause excessive tearing, lifting, or bruising to occur. If you are using Alpha Hydroxy, Retinol, or Glycolic Acid products regularly, consult your physician before waxing. A doctor’s note may be required.
COLDS/FLU, etc: Help avoid the spread of disease, Cough or sneeze into your elbow, rather than your hand. Wash with soap and water. We have tissues and hand sanitizers available. Please notify us immediately if you must cancel your appointment due to having a serious cold or the flu, open wounds, or any contagious condition.
FOR BEST WAXING RESULTS, please allow facial hair to be at least 1/8" (one eighth inch) and body hair to be 1/4" (one quarter inch) in length prior to waxing. Hair should not be longer than one inch. Please trim your hair before your waxing appointment, when performing your other personal grooming. After waxing, please allow at least 24 hours before any sun exposure. Refrain from tropical waters for at least 48 hours after waxing. Refrain from indoor tanning or full direct sun exposure for 24 hours before and after waxing. For best results and help to avoid ingrown hairs, clean and gently exfoliate area to be waxed appropriately before your appointment and continue to do so as needed thereafter. People with compromised immune systems should exercise caution with waxing and temporary hair removal. As with shaving and other temporary hair removal processes, waxing may result in ingrown hairs and other typically minor skin irritation in the form of redness, bruising, irritation, tearing, bleeding, and swelling. And older, weakened, and/or thin skin may increase risk. After affects are usually temporary and diminish within a few days of waxing with proper care. Improper care of any skin wound (ingrown hairs, weakened skin, or any other skin irritation regardless of cause) may result in infection. If know you have weakened or overly sensitive skin or if you are prone to ingrown hairs or infection, we recommend you avoid waxing.
CAUTION REGARDING HIGH FREQUENCY AND GALVANIC CURRENT: Avoid these deep cleansing acne skin treatments if you are or may be: pregnant, have heart or cardiovascular issues or disorders, pacemakers, braces, orthodontics, metal plates, or other devices, or who are sensitive to these types of treatments. Use your judgment. Consult your doctor if you are not sure.
CAUTION regarding Cosmetic Teeth Whitening: only for use by qualified adults with healthy teeth and gums. Must sign intake forms and Cosmetic Teeth Whitening Consent form on the
Client Forms page.
CAUTION regarding caviar, clay, mud, mineral, seaweed, and marine treatments: Use your judgment. Avoid these treatments if you are allergic to iodine; have hyperthyroidism, high blood pressure, varicose veins, or attacks of rheumatism. People who have allergies to sea food or other sea sources should avoid this treatment, as should people who have hormone-sensitive cancers or who are in remission from cancer. If you have any concerns, consult your physician before booking a mask or body wrap or any treatment we offer. A doctor’s note may be required. As with any sea or mineral product applied to the skin, some individuals with sensitivities or particular skin may experience irritation. A simple test patch will usually determine whether your skin might react to our products; however, you and your doctor are the best judge of whether a product or service may or may not cause irritation.
HEADACHE OR FLU-LIKE EFFECTS FOLLOWING MASSAGE IS NOT UNCOMMON: Some individuals may experience headache or flu-like symptoms up to 36 hours after a massage. This can be due to the toxins released by their muscles during the massage. Increasing water intake generally helps prevent or reduce discomfort. Use your judgment. You may wish to consult your doctor if your discomfort persists or worsens. Please let us know how you are feeling.
NO SEXUAL ACTIVITY, COMMENT, OR INNUENDO WILL BE TOLERATED. We provide professional therapeutic massage, esthetics, and day spa services. Staff reserves the right to refuse services at its discretion based on the client’s conditions, practitioner’s skill set, client attitude or action, etc., without explanation or prior notice.
PAYMENT is expected in full at time of service. $50 NSF fee applies. ACCEPTABLE FORMS OF PAYMENT: Visa, MasterCard, Discover, or American Express. Sorry, no personal checks accepted.
REFUNDS: NO REFUNDS on services provided or for any pre-paid services or certificates. Same-day appointments cannot be cancelled or refunded once purchased. Refunds within fourteen (14) days of purchase for 100% unused products, treatment series, and special 1-Year pre-paid packages only which are paid for by cash or credit card. Receipt must be provided. Products must be returned unused, unopened, and undamaged. Amount of refund for 1-Year and treatment series or packages depend on whether any of the services were used. If services are consumed in part or in whole, amount refunded will be pro-rated as a single item purchase at regular price. For example: say you purchase 1 Year of Relaxation Massage for $5000. Then you booked appointments and received two 60-minute aromatherapy relaxation massages. If you decide to cancel within fourteen days of purchasing, you will be refunded less the cost of two single aromatherapy relaxation massages at regular price ($85 x 2) and a $35 cancellation fee, so the refund amount would be $4795. Likewise, if you purchase a service series of five, six, or ten, etc., any refund would be less the price of a regularly priced single service. All refunds are at the sole discretion of Three Cedars Day Spa. Purchases made via promotional coupon, discount certificate, or gift certificate, (including SpaFinder, SpaWish, SalonWish, or SpaBoom giftcards/gift certificates) are 100% NON-REFUNDABLE.

PRIVACY: Clients are provided a copy of our Notice of Privacy Practices policy (and it is available on our web site) which discusses the use and disclosure of Protected Health Information (PHI) for the specific purposes of providing treatment, receiving payment for products and services rendered, and for general administrative operations. Three Cedars Day Spa originates and maintains paper and electronic records describing a client’s health history, symptoms, examinations and test results, treatment, and any plans for future care or treatment. These serve as a basis for planning care and treatment, billing, third-party verification that services billed were actually provided, and as a tool for routine healthcare operations such as assessing quality. Please refer to the Notice of Privacy Practices located on the Client Forms page of our website.
FUNDRAISING GIFTS; CHARITY AUCTION DONATIONS & PROMOTIONS: Three Cedars Day Spa happily donates services and promotional gifts to charities and organizations throughout the year. Please READ and UNDERSTAND the redemption terms before bidding on or purchasing, any item, service, or certificate from Three Cedars Day Spa. Charity donations/ promotions have very specific redemption instructions, such as the need to immediately book appointments online at our web site
www.ThreeCedarsDaySpa.com Monday through Thursday, AND to redeem before the expiration date, and so on. These special offers become VOID if they have been damaged or altered, or if they are not redeemed before they expire.
LATE APPOINTMENTS and/or waiting to complete intake paperwork at your scheduled appointment time will require service time to be reduced to fit. Please arrive early enough to complete intake and health paperwork, particularly if this is your first spa treatment with us and if you have a lengthy medical history to recall so that your session may begin on time. You may save some time by printing the Client Intake forms from our web site and completing them in advance. Remember to bring them with you to your appointment.
“NO SHOWS” (not showing up for a scheduled appointment or not contacting us in advance): Please, do not be a “No Show”. NO SHOWS WILL BE CHARGED 100% OF THE TOTAL PRICE OF THE BOOKED SERVICES. No Shows in conjunction with any gift certificate, coupon, prepaid service, package, or treatment series will be counted as a service rendered and cannot be rescheduled. No exceptions.
CANCELLATIONS: ALL CANCELLATIONS/RESCHEDULES REQUIRE A MINIMUM 24 HRS NOTICE. All cancellations/reschedules require a minimum 24-hours notice. Your appointment time is reserved just for you. We do not double book nor do we intentionally overlap spa appointments. Due to the nature of and demand for our unique spa offerings, a cancellation with less than 24 hours notice is subject to a minimum $35 cancellation fee or a loss of a prepaid service. If you booked online, please cancel your appointment online for the fastest automated cancellation confirmation response. Appointments made with less than 24hours notice cannot be changed/cancelled without penalty. We ask that you cancel online, but as a last resort, please leave me a cancellation voice message with your contact info at 360.280.0888 and I will contact you as soon as possible.
